WHAT TO WEAR ON A BAD HAIR DAY

Are you even SS19 without adorning your hair with a clip, barrette or headband this year?! Blair Warldorf would be quaking in her heels to know that the biggest trend of 2019 is to steal her coveted crown. Especially since this style not only works on bouncy blow drys, but also bad hair days over.

Yes, this trend has been kicking around since AW18, but it shows no sign of slowing down and it's finally trickled down to all the high street chains; Primark is serving up quite the collection of hair accessory goodness. As it gets ready to move into this autumn/winter, we can only expect more hair slides and hairbands to take center stage.

Instantly updating any look, clips (of the pearly, tortoiseshell or even kirby grip style) add major style points. Wearing them to one side of your hair is not only chic but practical (no more wind in the face!), layer them up and mix and match. If your hair is longer, using them to tie back the front strands elevates any hair style.

Headbands are the savior when it's not hair washing day; go full Gossip Girl with the band sitting in the middle of your head, or push all your hair backwards and the locks flow- great for a hot holiday effortless (and less sweaty forehead) look. Keep it chic with velvet, tie knot designs and pearls.

The best thing about this trend is the price, eBay and Depop have a great selection of cheap clips and headbands at a fraction of the price of retailers. You can even personalise some of the clip designs, bagging a Gucci and Chanel faux for basically nothing! Shop in places like Accessorize, Claire's Accessories and even Boots and Superdrug for basic cute pieces that don't break the bank and still leave your hair looking street style ready.
