Nobody predicted the world would shut down in 2020 due to a pandemic, but even more of a shock comes as the UK embarks on a week (yep, 7 whole days) of glorious, uninterrupted sunshine. That's right, it's a heatwave and this may be the only glimpse of a summer holiday we get this year.
Since us Brits were not expecting such a treat, wardrobe overhauls need to be created. It's time to dig out last summer's garms (and fast) to embrace the staycation you're about to embark on.
Pull out the classic white vest and pair with just about everything. Tuck into slip skirts and shorts for a chic, off duty vibe. Throw on cami dresses to peruse around the local park in, or opt for Reformation-dupe puff sleeve floral midis and make like you're on an Italian rooftop.
Cooler fabrics are naturally your go-to, think linens, breezy cottons and poplin. Channel beach vibes at home with oversized shirts teamed with cycling shorts, or chuck-on-and-go playsuits. Failing all this, put on your favourite bikini and lounge in your garden. If you close your eyes, nobody needs to know you're not in the South of France...
